How did it go.
Highs:
- Insulting, albeit rather politely, some rather charming Dragon matchmakers. "I would take it as a personal kindness were you in fact to be elsewhere."
- Turning down the Morrigan, twice, and living to tell the tale (truthfully it was likely just the once but I received 2 separate enquiries)
- Only realising at the last minute, thanks to a slip from Althea, that Ilyrio was in fact trying to drag Seraphim to a brothel.
- Complete confusion about how to deal with a surprise proposition.
- Giving the game away slightly, just enough that one person managed to clock it.
- Seraphim getting very confused about where said game leads to, what it's rules are, and why the hell he's playing it in the first place.
- "Beefcake"
- Lions Secure Delivery Services "Safe and Secure Delivery of Cash and Goods"
- Crown Prince Seraphim's Wholly Holy Sin Free Liqueur
- Some high quality ranting.
- People's day. (day off - bliss)
- The knock on effects from People's Day - Pink Wigs and Maroon jackets evidently do not go together.... I look like a demigod by comparison :D
- New groups joining the faction, being made welcome and really enjoying themselves.
- These new groups getting other new groups to join (yes more groups wanna join the Lions apparantly)
- Pre and Post final battle speeches, I felt they went well.
- Retrieving some Bruid tartan from Stesha.
- Late night obvious presence sweeps of the market place.
- "Aww little fluffy Seraphim has fucked off to the back streets of Glasgow again"
- "And if they get in our way I'm going to send in this big bastard" *punch to sternum followed by a strangled "OOF!" sound "who really should have been wearing plate armour on his chest....."
- Beating the crap out of the Bards bad guy.
- Choccie Orange Fudge
- The death of the Achillean.
- Swamping monster room with 160 monsters, whilst also proving a point (thankfully we also brought our own yellow)
- Wailing on the clowns, twice.
- Injury tally for final battle. 1 broken fingernail.
- Lions order of battle, very impressive.
- Brilliant faction to roleplay with.
- Command Tent illumination - worked even better than I envisaged.
- Brilliant take up of OC auction.
- Baj stealing, it's a bit like cattle rustling but infinitely more fun (and with a much much cuter payoff)
- The stream of smut and innuendo that I come out with after time out. Repressing my natural instincts to play Mr Stick Up His Ass Darkendale is tricky and requires sharp relief come 0200
- IC Command team gelling - We've known each other for years and it really helps when doing this job. Also with all 3 of us in situ it allows each of the personalities to come out more rather than trying to be everything to everyone..... it's great
- Plot and Actuation guys kicking ass and making people's IC lives miserable. Go team :)
Lows:
- OC Knobwaving about the final battle (if ye wanna wave yer knob do it IC so at the very least someone can smite you for being a cock)
- Bringing 160 players to fight the bards guild demon for the fight to be delayed for 2.5 hours
- Drive back to Glasgow, and no Tuesday off.
- Poor health pre and during the G making life a little bit awkward.
- Morrigan in a bottle - from being drunk to being vomited back up within 30 seconds.. harsh ...... very humiliating, especially when surrounded by beautiful women; thankfully not a word of mockery from them. (which was very much appreciated)
- Seeing friends getting OC frustrated, esp re point 2 of the lows.
- Seeing Stevie step down from Plot4. He did a great job, especially considering some of the crap he inherited. Cheers Stevie, and sorry for making life awkward during yer tenure. I think you owe me a solid punch in the jaw.
I'm sure there are others, but my brain is tired now.. and I need some more sleep.
Hugs and love all round.

"So if you take Wikipedia as a kind of unit, all of Wikipedia, the whole project--every page, every edit, every talk page, every line of code, in every language that Wikipedia exists in--that represents something like the cumulation of 100 million hours of human thought. I worked this out with Martin Wattenberg at IBM; it's a back-of-the-envelope calculation, but it's the right order of magnitude, about 100 million hours of thought.
And television watching? Two hundred billion hours, in the U.S. alone, every year. Put another way, now that we have a unit, that's 2,000 Wikipedia projects a year spent watching television. Or put still another way, in the U.S., we spend 100 million hours every weekend, just watching the ads. This is a pretty big surplus. People asking, "Where do they find the time?" when they're looking at things like Wikipedia don't understand how tiny that entire project is, as a carve-out of this asset that's finally being dragged into what Tim calls an architecture of participation."

I particularly expect that
It is a comedy scketetktcch show from the BBC that appears to be a cross between Monty Python and Monkey Dust, with a bit of Mitchell and Webb thrown in and lots of CGI goodness.
It has a bit in it called The Train Pirates. These chaps are pirates with their own pirate train. Their captain is Brian Blessed. It is on BBC3 on Thursdays at 10.30. Brian Blessed! Pirate Train Captain!

We have to wait until next spring for a five episode, BBC1 (and therefore probably toned down) third series of Torchwood?!
Seriously?
Six months before there's anything Who flavoured for us? Ok, there might be a Who xmas special, maybe. That's still four months away. And then waiting for spring before there's anything new.
I was willing to accept (just about) the reduced run of Who next year, but to reduce Captain Jack and co's adventures to? Dropping from 27 episodes this year to possibly as few as nine next?
Boo, Auntie Beeb. Booooo!
The only good things I've heard are that Euros Lyn will be directing the TW mini series and, more importantly, a certain
If you're only giving us five episodes, Auntie, they sure as hell better be five episodes of the erotic misadventures of Captains Jack and John, Ianto Jones and Micky Smith. Or else!

->I'm not going to get the ducks out in time. This is because I suck, and can't afford postage.
->I can't afford postage because in the move from weekly pay to monthly pay, I'm going to be down a week.
->This also means it looks seriously unlikely I'll be going to Maelstrom.
-> I'm going to have to ask PD very nicely if they'd mind transferring my existing balance to the first event next year.
->I have a therapy appointment in an hour. Again, because I suck, the GP appointment I was supposed to have had already will be on Friday at 17:00.

Have sent out another 7 e-mails with my CV attatched since I have returned, so on that note I am doing okay. I decided not to go out today seeing as I have just woken up to discover that I am feeling more sick than a sick thing in sick land. Seriously.
Hopefully it will be just a passing bug and by the time it has gone all the usual LARP related aches and pains will have packed up and buggered off too, the only issue is that I really want to make it out of the house.
Ahh well, if worst comes to worst I will do so on friday and just show my face in the Jobcentre again.
It was odd coming back from the G, playing wise I had the best event I have ever had. The Tarantulas have far more to them than people like to let on and the player driven plot seems so well interacted with. I loved it. As for the Wardens? Well, I will say now, I think they are one of the best groups in LT that I know of. IC they are efficient, knowledgable and most of all dedicated to the cause and OOC they are awesomely friendly and such a funny and slightly crazy bunch. I feel honored to have spent the weekend playing with them.
At the sanctioned I will be taking a hell of a lot of supplies of varying types with me as you get fed, nicotine'd, tea'd on a regular basis with them and I would like to put something back in.
I will talk about the G itself a bit more indepthly later on as I must get on with othert things, however;
As I say it was my best event as far as playing goes, I had a great time with the Wardens and really loved seeing Clarey back there. Have come to the conclusion that Clarey is my rock and as much like my sister as my own, if not moreso. (Thank you Chick, you have no idea how lucky I consider myself having a friendship like I do with you. Plus some of the G really wouldn't have been what it was if it hadn't been for you...
FRESH BIG PANTS!!!
and all, yanno? :P) but yeah, more about the G and our odd goings on later. I didn't like coming back in many ways. I haven't got a job to come back to was the upsetting thing. Aye, I have really sunk my teeth into it since I have been here but the problem is that so far it feels like I am getting nowhere. I have covered the house in bits of paperwork, job print off's, applications etc and so far it all feels as if it has been a little futile. I am not going to stop, of course not. I know that it will take time when I am in an out of the way area with very little actually in it. I don't have a car, apparently this makes me greater fail in the world of job hunting oh and on top of that I don't understand microbiology, therefore I was turned down just before the G for WOOLWOTHS. (Yeah, I tell you something, it's one hell of a confidence boost being turned down by Woolworths).
Pah, another day another application, no?
Have called the hotel in town too as they are looking for staff so hopefully something will come out of that or the e-mails I have sent, but for now I am going to tidy up and shiz.
Hope you are all well and having fun. Will update on the G and so on a little later.
Loves
*Salute*

Steve - I'm going to be there about 8.45ish tonight. Please run my character as usual.
I just wish that I had worked out at the GEF just how good I am at 'facilitating' things for other faction members. I reckon that next year will be awesome fun.
Thank you all for making it a great event for Arthur. He is really really really really really happy and had a fab time.
